Two suspected Boko Haram members have been confirmed dead by The Joint Security Task-Force during an operation in Kumbotso LGA, Kano State.

Punchng reports that the suspects knew security agencis had been following them up, trailing them.

So they planned to set up a bomb in a car that will explode, killing the security agents when the security operatives come to search their (Boko Haram suspects) house.

But unfortunately the improvised explosives devices in the car exploded on them, shattering their bodies.

Senate President David Mark returned to Nigeria on Wednesday after a trip to Israel for medical treatment.

Accidental Missile Discharge Hits Building In Woji Part Of Port Harcourt

AN explosive device Friday  went off on a twin storey building in Woji part of Port Harcourt creating panic and tension in the area.

Mr Eric Chioma who described himself as landlord of number 75 Woji road, Rumurolu where the incident occurred said the explosive looked like it came from a rocket launcher.

Chioma who was still shivering from the tension created by the explosion while talking to the Vanguard said he heard the deafening sound at about 730 am.

The city of Jos, north central Nigeria, suffered a bomb attack on Tuesday night during the Uefa Champions League semi-final second leg game between Barcelona and Chelsea.
Nine fans sustained injuries when a bomb exploded in the Tundun Wada area of the city at about 9pm local time.

The viewing centre located behind the Coca Cola mini depot was packed with fans watching the enthralling game between the European giants, in which the two teams drew 2-2, sending the Blues on to the final of the competition at the expense of the Blaugrana due to a 3-2 aggregate victory.

Boko Haram Bomb Blast Hits Football Fans

According to the latest report on Boko Haram, an unspecified number of football fans have sustained serious injuries when two bomb blasts hit a football viewing center in Tundun Wada, Jos on Tuesday night.
NAN reports that the majority of the injuries resulted from stampede as the soccer enthusiasts ran for safety.
We learnt the bomb went off by the road side, minutes after the end of the UEFA semi final match between Chelsea FC and Barcelona FC.
An eye witness, Hosea Daniel, a security man with NAN, said that among the injured were petty traders selling by the roadside.
Tuesday’s bomb is the third in Jos, targeted at soccer fans during high profile European matches.

Oil, Gold, Silver Found In Taraba State – Scientists

  Russian scientists from the Institute of Aerospace Instrumentation have discovered deposits of silver and traces of gold and oil in central and northern parts of Taraba.

Mr Valery Shaposhinkov, the Economic Counsellor of Russian Embassy in Nigeria, disclosed this on Monday in Jalingo while briefing Gov. Danbaba Suntai on their survey for mineral deposits in the state.

The Counsellor noted that Russian scientists had vast experience in mineral exploration across the world and were sure of their findings.


“Of what we have found, silver is the largest in deposit in the northern part and traces of gold and oil, which  are at a  middle level in central and northern parts of the state,” he said.

The lead scientist, Robert Mukhanmedyenov, who spoke through an interpreter, explained that deposits of lead and zinc were also found in the northern zone.

He said that precious stones were also discovered along the Benue trough in southern part of the state.

He said the lion attacked the settlement on the edge of a forest in Gujba district, 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the state capital Damaturu on Monday.

"We are trying to mobilise our rangers from the wildlife department to capture the predator alive or hunt it down to avert further destruction," he said.

Mr Sarki said the lion was believed to be holed up near Damaturu as residents in nearby villages reported seeing the devoured remains of animals they suspected to have been killed by the big cat.

He added that it was not clear whether the lion lived nearby or came from afar.

A middle-aged auto mechanic on Monday asked a Mushin Grade A Customary Court to dissolve his eight-year old marriage because his wife was allegedly fond of beating him up whenever they quarrelled.

“I have never seen such a troublesome woman like my wife; she hits me with all sorts of wooden and iron objects whenever we have a quarrel and has inflicted several injuries on me. I usually don’t retaliate when she hits me.

“Her actions have been threatening my life and I can’t wait till she kills me before I save myself.

“I am tired of the marriage and I want to put an end to it,” Ibrahim Salami pleaded with the court.

Salami also accused Keji, his petty trader wife, of being an unrepentant adulterous woman who was fond of dating other men in the neighbourhood.

“My wife is a wayward woman. I can no longer vouch for her fidelity. She is always hiding the children from me and forbids them from talking to me. I believe she wants to take them to the home of one of her numerous boyfriends.”

But Keji denied the allegations, claiming that it was her husband who dated one of her friends.

“I am a responsible and Godly woman. I am not adulterous. It was Ibrahim who dated my friend in spite of my pleas. He even bragged about his shameful acts. He plays all sorts of mockery music to infuriate me in the house.”

Keji said that the divorce suit filed by Salami was a way of evading his financial responsibilities as a father.

“He wants to divorce me so that he can abandon me and the children. He doesn’t want to take care of them. He has never really cared about their welfare.

She urged the court not to grant her husband’s divorce request, adding that she was still interested in making their marriage work.

The Court President, Mr Abayomi Ipaye, advised the couple that quarrels were inevitable in marriage since it involved two people with different perception and background.

“Both of you are from different backgrounds; you have diverse opinions on various issues, therefore, you will constantly disagree.

“Disagreements breed quarrels in marriage but they can be managed with maturity and a lot of patience.”

He called on the couple to exercise endurance and humility for long lasting and blissful marriage.

Ipaye adjourned the case to March 7 for further hearing. (NAN)

A 47-year-old mother of two who donated her kidney help save her ailing boss's life has allegedly been fired after the woman 'got what she wanted'.

Debbie Stevens from Long Island, New York, offered her organ to her boss Jackie Brucia, 61, after she said she was struggling to find a donor.

Stevens has now filed a legal complaint at the Human Rights Commission in New York claiming that the woman used her and then fired her, the New York Post reported.

Stevens said: 'I feel very betrayed. This has been a very hurtful and horrible experience for me.

Horror: Man cuts off lover's head after sex

The Oyo State Police Command, on Monday, paraded two suspects who allegedly killed a 42-year old woman, Sekinat Emiola.

According to the police, one of the suspects, Asimiyu Ayantayo, who was the lover of the deceased, allegedly beheaded her and cut off her two hands after making love with her.

However, Ayantayo claimed that Emiola died as a result of a charm that was placed on her by another lover; adding that he mutilated her corpse in order to make it impossible for residents of the area to identify her body.

 A Brazilian actor has died after accidentally hanging himself while playing Judas in an Easter Passion play.
Tiago Klimeck, 27, was enacting the suicide of Judas during the performance on Good Friday in the city of Itarare.
The actor was hanging for four minutes before fellow performers realised something was wrong.
Klimeck was taken to hospital suffering from cerebral hypoxia but died on Sunday.
The Passion play was being performed in Itarare, 345km (214 miles) west of Sao Paulo.
Klimeck was re-enacting the scene in which Judas commits suicide in repentance for his betrayal of Jesus Christ.

HOW 20 YEAR OLD MAN WAS BEHADED FOR MONEY RITUALS

Officers of the Nigeria Police,Osun State Command have arrested a 20-year-old man, Tobi Ojo for allegedly beheading his closest friend,Jacob Afolabi for ritual purposes.
LEADERSHIP gathered from the police that the killed Afolabi’s private part was also chopped off and the  police at Ayeso Police Division, Ilesa, Osun State are trying to unravel the mystery surrounding the killing of the 20-year-old boy.
Jacob Afolabi, who is among the candidates writing the ongoing West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) was found lifeless in a septic tank belonging to an 89-year-old herbalist, Olorunfemi Fagbemi whom Ojo employed to do the money ritual for him.

A landlord, Adebola Mabinuori, was on Thursday sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by a Customary Court in Mushin, Lagos, for failing to put his house in proper habitable condition.

Mabinuori was however, given an option of N20,000 fine.

The prosecuting counsel for Mushin Local Government, Miss Oluwatayo Daramola, told the court that the house, located at No. 56, Ola St., Itire, was in a terrible condition.

According to Daramola, the landlord has an illegal school within the premises.

“There is a school being illegally operated in the house. Many children are packed together in one shop being used as a classroom.

“The shop has been extended with the use of wooden planks. There is no proper ventilation in the shop. The children could suffocate.

“The school children do not even have a toilet they can use. They defecate in the bush,” Daramola said, stressing that the house lacked hygienic sanitary facilities that the tenants could use.

N15m debtor, Jim Iyke Causes Drama In Court

 Popular and controversial Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke last week Tuesday caused a mild drama in an Abuja court after his alleged 15 million naira case was heard.

Nigeriafilms.com gathered that after the court hearing of his alleged 15 million naira scam case, Jim Iyke allegedly ordered one of his aides to seize a fan's phone, who has been taking pictures of him at the court premises.

He also allegedly wiped out picture contents of him in the fan's phone. Jim Iyke was reportedly busy on his phone while his case was heard in court.

Meanwhile, Nigeriafilms.com also gathered that the police has finally established a criminal case against him.

The police told the court that a criminal case has been established against Jim Iyke for his alleged involvement in the transfer of company's share worth N15m to himself.

Getting to know about the absence of the company's manager, who invited the police into the case, Habiba Abubakar in court last Tuesday, the actor sought the dismissal of the case but the Magistrate, Azubike Okeagu denied the prayer.

The case has been adjournment till May 23.

24 Years Old Man Killed For Defecating Inside A School

 

Sayo Akinyemi, 24, was an apprentice in an aluminum-smelting workshop at Oke-Ado area of Ibadan. His target was to raise money to fund his education. As the only male child out of the three children in his family, his parents had also been looking forward to a time they would enjoy the fruit of their labour. But that hope would never materialise, as Sayo was killed recently by a land speculator for defecating on the latter’s family land in the area. The incident happened on Wednesday March 4.

Lagos Agberos Killed Taxi Driver For Carrying Illegal Passengers

Hoodlums suspected to be working for the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Akure, Ondo State, have sent 37-year-old taxi driver, Muyiwa Alabi, to his early grave for allegedly carrying passengers “illegally” along the Akure-Idanre Road.

The slain driver was reported to have been clubbee to death by the hoodlums, following argument when his cab was impounded for carrying passengers believed to be meant for their unit. The incident threw the entire family of the deceased, including his aged parents who depended on him, into mourning mood. It was gathered that in the course of putting up resistance by the deceased, the hoodlums descended on him and his cab was driven to the Idanre unit union office.....
